Mon Cheri – Freesia and Poppy Dress

Hi everyone, it’s Kari from That’s Sew Kari. I always get excited when I see a new Lila Tueller collection. I absolutely love the handpainted florals. Mon Cheri has me so excited for spring (and we haven’t even officially started winter yet…ha!). The whole collection is full of gorgeous blooms and coordinates. My youngest now has her Easter dress ready to go!

For this project, I selected the Mon Cheri Main White and Mon Cheri Triangles Yellow. The main florals are always my favorite, but I do love that many of the coordinates can stand alone or be paired with other prints.

When I saw the fabric, I knew I’d want to use it for her Easter dress. Together we decided on Freesia by Peony Patterns. I had hoped I’d ordered enough fabric for the double circle skirt option, but with her newly added height, I sadly didn’t have enough. She really had her heart set on something twirly so I used the tiered skirt option from the Poppy Dress (also Peony Patterns). I love the belt on the Freesia Dress and it’s a great way to use a coordinate for a pop of color.

Be sure to check your local quilt store for these stunning prints! They will certainly have you dreaming of spring.
