Support Group Quilt Along – Week 5

Hello! it’s Jamie from Sew Brainy Designs back with the final week of the the Support Group Quilt Along! I’m sewing along with my friends over at The Fat Quarter Shop to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month all October!

The event features the adorable Support Group Quilt Pattern by Riley Blake Designer Lori Holt whose mom survived breast cancer. In case you missed the announcement post, you can read it HERE.

For my quilt, I used these 12 brights from the Riley Blake basics line Blossom by Christopher Thompson! They are Fuchsia, Wisteria, Raspberry, Apricot Blush, Cayenne, Orange, Honey, Emerald City, Green Smoothie, Peacock, Medium Blue, and Denim.

These were my bright and happy blocks from WEEK #1, WEEK #2, WEEK #3, and WEEK #4 !

And now they’re all finished in the Support Group quilt!

It’s so bright and happy!

The black and white blossom background was definitely a great choice!

I used a serpentine Stitch (#1396) on my Bernina machine and 50 wt white Aurifil thread.

I absolutely love the way this quilt came out! Brights for the win! This was such a fun project!

Also, I’m excited to announce that as of November 4, 2022 through the Fat Quarter Shop’s fundraising efforts for National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) with ByAnnie’s SewPink initiative, Lori Holt’s Support Group, and Gina Tell’s quilt auction, they have raised $23,208! Awesome work quilters and stitchers!

I hope all had fun following along and spreading some love to all the breast cancer survivors out there! You can still check out all the projects using the hashtag #SupportGroupQuiltAlong and #SupportGroupSAL or over

Until later, happy quilting!

Jamie
