I’m in LOVE! Yes, I really am in love with this mini quilt! When I saw the tutorial for the Cat Mini Quilt HERE, I knew it would be purrrfect for Halloween!
Enter Carina Gardner’s latest fabric collection, “Eek Boo Shriek.” This fabric line is filled with spooky themes combined with an elegant and even vintage aesthetic. These are the designs I don’t mind decorating my house with: seasonal and fun, yet classy and beautiful.
Carina Gardner has a terrific Instagram feed full on fabulous project and ideas I know you’ll love. You can find her @carinagardner or click on this LINK.
These cat blocks are deceptively simple to make. Instructions for the individual cat blocks can be found HERE.
Once I had completed 25 cat blocks, I followed the instructions found HERE for assembling the quilt.
For the smashing and border fabrics, I used Riley Blake Confetti Cottons “Putty.” CONFETTI COTTONS is Riley Blake Designs’ signature solid color fabric line. Solid colors are an absolute essential part of quilting, as they give the eye a place to rest and help printed fabric to really “pop.” Modern quilters love the graphic element solid colors lend to their designs. Riley Blake Confetti Cottons are the highest quality cotton, and are an absolute pleasure to work with.
Here is a closer look at some of these gorgeous fabrics in the Eek Boo Shriek collection. Aren’t the damasks fabulous? And how about those skeletons?
For the quilt back, I used this amazing Raven color fabric from Riley Blake’s “TRENTO” collection. The speckled design is super versatile and the name “Raven” just screams Halloween, don’t you think?
And here is another look at these fun prints.
