Poppies And Plumes – Pretty Florals in Your Kitchen

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Damjana from AppleGreen Cottage, and I’m thrilled to give you a sneak peek at some of Lila Tueller’s stunning prints from her new Poppies and Plumes collection. And a new quick sewing project, too!

Where I live, it’s the season of warm, comforting, and hearty food. Think stews, soups, and, of course, jacket potatoes! And while the long wait for oven-baked potatoes is not my strong suit, I often opt for a quicker solution – the microwave.

So the microwave potato bag became my ally for a speedy, warm, and satisfying potato treat.

In case you haven’t tried it yet – it’s so simple! You’ll both sew the pouch AND microwave the potatoes faster than it takes an oven to bake them the traditional way.

All you need is an easy microwave potato bag – your ticket to enjoying moist, fluffy baked potatoes, in 10 minutes!

You can get the tutorial at the AppleGreen Cottage site:

It’s perfect for those chilly afternoons when you want the satisfaction of a jacket potato without the longer baking time.

About the Poppies And Plumes Collection

Lila Tueller’s latest collection has my heart for a few fantastic reasons! First off, the rich color palette — think pinks, berries, wines, and navies — it’s an instant mood lifter.

Plus, the timeless floral prints that I absolutely adore. Like this vibrant Oxford Floral!

I also wanted to give you a little peek at the captivating Navy Damask print. I always look for Damask prints in Lila’s collections, they are stunning – always! After unfolding this gorgeous piece of fabric – well it took me less than a minute to decide I absolutely need new napkins – in this exact print. How classic, elegant!

Navy Damask, Mitered Corner Napkins

What I noticed was that the Navy Damask print looks beautiful even from the backside. This is why I just mitered the napkin corners, there was no need for double layers here.

If you’re new to mitered corners, I’ve got you covered: here’s a mitered corner tutorial at Applegreen Cottage. There’s a little tweak that makes mitering corners even easier. (Did I mention I love easy sewing hacks? 🙂
