The minimalist design of this tote is the perfect pairing to show off the fun postcards. We love the unique handle design, and don’t be fooled, the grommets/eyelets are super easy to install! I recommend watching one of the many video tutorials available on YouTube if you haven’t tried installing one before.
Leather for purse straps is also readily available online. You can buy it longer than you need and simply cut it to the desired length.
If I were to make this again, I would definitely try to do better at lining up the design at the seams, but that little imperfection didn’t stop me from loving this bag!
I lined the bag with Riley Blake Linen in Dark Gray. I used fusible interfacing on both the outer and lining fabric. The additional interfacing for the bag lining gives the lightweight linen more stability and gives the bag just a little more structure, which I prefer.
In addition to the bag lining, I also used the Dark Gray Linen on the outside of the bag as the contrasting base fabric.
