We are completely smitten with Stacy West’s new Buttermilk Basics fabric line! The collection of traditional and timeless prints are guaranteed to quickly become a sewing room staple.
Stacy’s rainbow array of vintage-inspired, muted colors and generous selection of low-volume prints are the perfect choice for rustic, primitive, and vintage-inspired projects.
Just look at those gorgeous colors!
Buttermilk Basics also comes with several fabulous cheater panels, like this Summer panel. No need to cut and piece together your quilt when you can simply layer this with batting and a quilt back, finish it off with some pretty quilting, and you are good to go!
I decided these fabrics were calling for a scrappy project, and Sarah’s cute and easy Quilt-As-You-Go TUTORIAL seemed to be the perfect choice. The only real change I made was to use one of the blocks on the cheater panel for the center.
Isn’t it fabulous?! And notice the tiny designs in the fabrics — LOVE them!
I quilted it with simple straight lines tightly spaced about 1/4″ apart. The tight spacing here gives the pillow cover more structure and stability than looser spacing would.
I opted for a basic envelop back, quilting the back pieces for additional stability.
I absolutely love the timeless, Americana look of this pillow! This is a fabulous project when you are looking for a quick and easy scrap buster. Get the FREE Tutorial at PICCOLO STUDIO.
