Good Morning, Everyone! It’s Jessica Dayon here and today I’d like to share the two quilts that I made using Buttermilk Homestead by Stacy West.
I am a major fan of the fabric that Stacy designs! Buttermilk Homestead is beautiful and classic. I thoroughly loved working with this gorgeous collection.
I had the pleasure of making two quilts with Buttermilk Homestead!
For the first quilt I made, I used a pattern called Market Baskets by Kim Brackett and it is found in the Big Book of Civil War Quilts. I have made multiple patterns from this book (with plans to make more still). It is a fantastic book. I chose to alternate the baskets from the pattern with houses from the Buttermilk Homestead House Panel (P11661-PANEL1). I had to slightly enlarge the baskets to make them the same size as the individual houses. I think it turned out spectacularly and I’m so happy with it!
I added an extra block to the back of this quilt for a little personal touch. I used it as the quilt label too! For the backing, I used Buttermilk Basics in Navy.
For the second quilt, I designed a new pattern! I call this pattern Smidgeon and it is a free download on my blog!
I love the mix of tiny squares and quarter square triangles! It is a really fun pattern to make!
To personalize this quilt, I added a 12″ dresden plate and I used the center for the quilt label. For the backing, I used Confetti Cotton in Tea Dye.
I had a very windy day when I tried to capture a beautiful picture of these two quilts so pardon the wind blown look! But, the colors of this collection look so beautiful again this moody sky that I had to share!
