For her next state, Shealeen Louise celebrates Utah, the Beehive State in all its glory. The sego lily is the state flower of Utah and is front and center in the stunning collection. Utah’s state bird, the California Gull, is also part of the main print. You’ll also find bees, beehives, and gingham in a lovely pallete of yellow, black, and white. You don’t have to be from Utah to love this collection.
Shealeen Louise is best known for her detailed and lush floral watercolors. Check out two patterns that come with The Beehive State. They are gorgeous, fun, and FREE! These quilt patterns will be available soon on the RBD website.
We are expecting The Beehive State to arrive in October 2022! Already dreaming of what you’ll create with it? Be sure to check with your favorite local or online quilt shop to see if they will be stocking this collection! Are you a shop owner? The Beehive State is available for wholesale orders now!
Designer:
Shealeen Louis
Shealeen Louise is a watercolor painter based out of Corrales, New Mexico, a small village outside of Albuquerque, where she was born and raised. She grew up in a family that encouraged creativity at every turn, and she spent much of her free time as a child drawing, baking, writing plays, and playing piano. Ironically, years later it was while pursuing a music career that Shealeen realized that physical art was her truest passion.
When she’s not painting flowers, you can find her rearranging furniture in her home, cooking up traditional New Mexican meals, or going for walks along the Rio Grande with her husband Dan and their pups.
