Need a fun summer project for the kids? Have you seen the Color & Sew Pillowcase Kits? Riley Blake Designs has teamed up with Jeep®, Boy Scouts of America®, NASA, and Crayola® to create a fun craft that will easily turn into a treasured keepsake.
With summer vacation starting, we decided to round up some neighborhood boys to try out the kits. They were more than happy to help out! Each kit includes a fabric panel and fabric markers along with easy instructions for turning the fabric panel into a pillowcase.
The Jeep® fabric panel features outdoor scenes and, of course, Jeeps. It was no surprise that the first thing to get colored were the Jeeps! And let me tell you, this guy was very serious about coloring his Jeep – nothing broke his concentration!
The Cub Scout panel is a given for any young scouter, and a fun idea for a troop activity.
Again, we had a serious artist on our hands. I was surprised how totally engrossed they were in the task!
Who doesn’t love rockets?! The NASA panel is a fun compilation of stars, planets, rockets and other miscellaneous spacecraft.
This is a project that could easily keep these boys busy for hours!
Finally, the Crayola panel is loaded with adorable farm scenes, with farm animals, children, and tractors.
I loved watching this little guy sprawl out and get completely focused on each little scribble. He had so much fun changing colors and finding new spots to color.
