It was complete love at first sight when The Cotton Cure’s Redwood Tote popped up on our Instagram feed!
There was so much love that we had to make our very own to show you!
Using the same adorable Dorothy’s Journey fabric they used, and the fabulous Redwood Tote pattern from Noodlehead, we got started!
The pattern is straight forward and they step-by-step instructions are easy to follow. Don’t be afraid of the zippers. You will be surprised how simple they are to sew with, and they add that extra touch that makes this bag special.
The front zipper pocket is the perfect size for storing car keys, chapstick and other small necessities. The double top stitching along the panels adds both durability and a nice decorative touch.
There is a handy open back pocket — again, super easy to sew.
The inside has two handy open pockets. We used the Pink Poppy print for the bag lining, which adds a sweet contrast to the bold green exterior. The Yellow Brick Road fabric could be another fun choice for the lining.
Instead of making fabric handles, we purchased the leather handles and hardware from Noodlehead. The quality is top notch and they were a breeze to add to the bag.
The cross-body strap, also purchased from Noodlehead, is a fun addition.
