Hi Makers! It’s Lisa Jo of Neverlandstitches. I am back to share how to incorporate panels into your quilt top. I used the Camp S’more collection which is a part of the Hershey Licenced fabric collections.
The Camp S’more collection is so much fun. It’s got the key ingredients of graham crackers, marshmallows and Hershey Chocolates. The collection also has fun prints that would go from sprint to fall camping. Oranges, blues, creams, and greens. The plaids prints in this collection have a teeny tiny Hershey bar at the palid intersection, they are so much fun!
To make this quilt I used five blocks from my newest pattern, Campfire. I also used the panel from the fabric collection.
I cut apart the panel and then added a fabric border so that the sections of the panel equal the size of the blocks for the quilts. I then sewed the quilt blocks and bordered panel blocks together to create the quilt top and then used the Chocolate Camp S’more Text print as a border for the entire quilt.
I backed the quilt with Chocolate Shabby and quilted the quilt on my Q’nique using a swivel circle panto with a light blue tread on top and cream in the bobbin.
This quilt is going to be so fun to toss inside an inexpensive blow up kiddie pool (without water)f or our family outdoor movie nights on the blow up big screen in the backyard. The grands are going to love snuggling with it for movie nights and eating S’mores of course!!
If you’d like to make your own version of the Campfire Quilt, the pattern is available in my Etsy shop. Also, grab the Camp S’more collection and don’t forget to get the panel to speed things along.
