Imagine rainbows, imagine little dragonflies, imagine shooting stars… imagine the possibilities for this new collection of fabric! I’m Kristy Lea from Quiet Play and Imagine is my newest fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs and I’m so excited to be sharing a little more about it with you!
This new collection is a big pop of rainbow, featuring a print in each colour. But I’ve also added in some fun prints in white, grey and black that work beautifully with these bright colours. Plus the main print is full of rainbow hexies that work perfectly as a cheater print.
These prints work beautifully as tone on tone to add some rainbow to your next project. Or have a little fussy-cutting fun and pick out favourite motifs to feature in your blocks and quilts. Those dragonflies are perfect for a little feature.
I can’t forget to mention something a little extra that comes along with this collection. How about a geometric rainbow wideback? This print will be perfect to back al of your bright and beautiful rainbow projects!
I’ve designed two new quilt patterns to go with this new fabric line. You can ask your local quilt store about a printed copy of these patterns or find digital versions in my shop. I love foundation paper piecing so you’ll find more of that technique in these designs. Although for Dragonfly Flight (below), I’ve mixed in a little traditional piecing – I just love an Irish Chain quilt!
Daydream (below) is a big, bright colour wheel. It shows off all the colours in the rainbow, with some fun piecing to create shapes. Add a patchwork border and you have a quilt designed to stand out!
Love a smaller project? Me too. Sometimes you just want to sew something for a quick finish. That’s where cushions/pillows are perfect! Here’s a little look at some of the projects I’ve been sewing. You can find all of the patterns for these in my shop by clicking here.
