Hey there it’s Ingrid here from Joe June and Mae.
I had the absolute pleasure of working with Riley Blake Designs newest fabric collection ‘Little Swan’ by Sandra Nygård-Parthoens of Little Forest Atelier.
This is such a beautiful and pretty fabric collection, with the cutest prints and colors.
I decided to use a simple quilt block pattern, so the fabric has a chance to really shine.
This super easy ‘heart quilt block pattern’
This quick, easy and simple heart quilt block seamed perfect to showcase the pretty prints of this fabric collection, what do you think?
I created a paper pieced version of this pattern, because I do not like to precut my fabrics, and I love to start sewing right away. Paper piecing always gives you perfect blocks, accuracy comes super easy with paper piecing.
This pattern is totally beginner friendly, so if you want to start out on your paper piecing journey, or are just curious what this quilting technique offers, this pattern is the perfect way to start.
This quilt block pattern has no matching seams, and only one segment to sew.
Quilting is a craft that has been cherished for generations, passed down through families and communities as a labor of love.
Among the myriad of quilt block designs, one stands out as an eternal symbol of affection and warmth—
In this blog post, I will show you how using a super simple heart quilt block creates a stunning quilt.
This quilt block pattern is perfect for both beginners and seasoned quilters.
Check out all the pretty hearts here.
I added sashing in pink and corner stones in navy. My sashing strips are 2″x 8″ finished and the cornerstones are 2″ squares.
I made 60 different heart quilt blocks .
I always chose two contrasting fabrics, and made sure I used the larger scale prints for the hearts and the smaller prints for the background.
Now who wouldn’t want to get married in this cute little country church and cuddle up in the adorable ‘Heart Quilt’ as a married couple?
I could not resist, I had to design a swan quilt block pattern as well for this adorable fabric series…..
Now who will create the second swan facing left to make an adorable Mini Quilt ?
