We’re visiting THE SMITTEN CHICKEN today, where Jen is sharing two FABulous versions of her Alma Quilt featuring Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cottons.
Did you know that October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month? On her blog, Jen opens up about her own loss which was followed by her rainbow baby, which is a baby born after the loss of a child. Jen’s Alma quilt (pattern found HERE) is her celebration of new life after loss, and wow does it ever tug at our heartstrings! We love this muted version with deep Stargazer blue, expanding into lighter dusty pinks. Gorgeous!
The symbolism of the small blue heart expanding and growing brighter and brighter is powerful! And the rainbow heart quilting just adds to the overall feeling of love that emanates from these pieces. This bright rainbow version is pure eye candy! Jen used Riley Blake Designs Confetti Cottons for both quilts. We love the versatility of Confetti Cottons — as you can see, you can easily change the overall mood and look of a quilt by simply switching up the colors. Fun! Hop on over to Jen’s BLOG for photos and details about ther quilt, and be sure to follow her on Instagram @thesmittenchicken for more project ideas and inspiration.
