Hey everyone it’s Ingrid here from Joe June and Mae.
Have you seen this new cute fabric series designed by the super talented Melissa Mortenson called ‘Mint for you’.
I can’t get over how adorable this fabric series is. There are so many fun little prints, which are super perfect for fussy cutting and totally perfect for these adorable little quilted Christmas ornaments.
There are little hearts, cherry blossoms, and the prettiest little stamp print in this fabric series.
Don’t they just look super adorable?
I have included five different designs in this Christmas ornament pattern.
There is a Christmas tree, which I placed ‘on point’, so it faces the perfect way for the ornaments.
Then there is a tiny little log cabin pattern. And finally there are three different star patterns, it is Christmas after all.
All of these patterns are really easy to make, and all of them are paper pieced.
You know I love paper pieced patterns, and I found out, they’re especially convenient to make these tiny little ornaments.
I know it’s hard to chose your favorite, here you can see all five designs sewn up with ‘mint for you’. The ‘Mint for You’ main print with the stamps is absolutely perfect for fussy cutting and makes a perfect center for the Ohio Star or tiny Log Cabin pattern.
Since all of these patterns are paper pieced, there is no need to starch the fabric, in order to sew the small pieces easier. Another huge advantage of paper piecing is, that there is no need to pre cut the fabric, you can start sewing right away. All the seams will be matching and straight as well. So if you’ve never done foundation paper piecing patterns you should have a try , they turn out always perfect.
Go check out this beautiful fabric series and choose the perfect prints for your Christmas ornaments. You’ll find the pattern for these fun little ornaments here.
