Penny Rose Fabrics is now official, check out the new Penny Rose sign at our warehouse. We are looking forward to the arrival of our first collection, Hope Chest set to arrive in August.
We have been working on the strike offs and they look great! What is old is new again. Look at the green print above. It is an authentic 30’s design, but looks very modern and current for today.
The bright and colorful designs of the 1930’s era are one of the most popular genres of quilting fabrics. The color, diversity of design and size allows for many uses including quilting, home decor and garments.
During the Great Depression of the 1930’s there was a great revival of Quilting. The hard times brought a strong desire for women to socialize. Quilting became a popular way for women to fulfill their desire to be creative while still making something practical for her family. To keep expenses to a minimum, women would find quilting materials from many different sources such as sewing scraps, out-grown clothing and feed sacks.
Enjoy these happy bright colors and designs that bring a little remembrance of an era that looked forward to better times.
