The Sew Simple Shapes Remix for the month of October is here!
Remember, there’s no pattern, no sew-along, no finished quilt, just fun motivation to get your creative juices flowing. You’ll be inspired to gather your Sew Simple Shapes and make all the cute things!
For October’s remix, Lori created her block using the following:
- Sew Simple Shapes: Vintage Housewife (J34)
- Fabric: Lori used various collections to make this remix scrappy. She used Riley Blake Designs Linen (LN-300 Natural) for the background.
- The stocking and cuff fabric sizes vary. For the large stocking, cut 1 ½” x 3 (cuff) and 3” x 7” (stocking), for the medium stocking, cut: 1 ½” x 3” (cuff) and 3” x 5” (stocking) and for the small stocking, cut: 1 ½” x 3 (cuff) and 3 x 4 ½” (stocking).
- The background fabric sizes vary. For the large stocking, cut: 4 ½” x 9”, for the medium stocking, cut: 4 ½” x 7” and for the small stocking, cut: 4 ½” 6” (Lori will share more detail on this Friday on her YouTube channel).

We created our project using the following:
- Sew Simple Shapes: Vintage Housewife (J34)
- Fabric: We used a combination of Texture (Sandy Gervais) and Shabby (Lori Holt), to make our adorable treat bags. Use spray adhesive to attach the finished stocking to the treat bag. Use a little bit of craft glue to add some decorative trim, and voile!
These stockings are so fun and addicting to make! Share your version of the remix and tag us @rileyblakedesigns, @beelori1 and use #sewsimpleshapes or #sewsimpleshapesremix. We can’t wait to see what you make!
