I think I can, I think I can….who remembers this iconic phrase? We are so excited to share a sneak peek of this much-anticipated fabric line, the officially licensed The Little Engine That Could, designed by the lovely and talented Jill Howarth!
Look at those gorgeous colors!
The Little Engine That Could fabrics feature all of the easily recognizable characters you remember from this children’s classic: giraffes, drums, sailboats, toy soldiers, teddy bears, a Humpty-Dumpty, dolls…and of course, the trains!
The blue, green, and cream colors are perfect for little boys and girls, and even us grown-ups who still adore this beautiful story of friendship, hard work, and determination.
The fabric collection also features this 36″ x WOF panel, which can easily be turned into a quick baby blanket, or take your time adding fun borders for a larger quilt. You could even fussy cut all of the little border illustrations into quilt blocks. So many options, and so much cuteness!
Of course, there is also a soft book, or quiet book, panel. Instructions are included on the panel, so you can easily whip up a fun little book safe enough for babies to chew on, and soft enough to keep children quietly occupied, although we can’t guarantee they won’t be making “choo-choo” and “chug-chug” train sounds as their imagination takes off!
Take a closer look at the Green Main print. So many fun characters against a meadow-like green background. This would be a fun fabric to use in an I Spy quilt, don’t you think?
Of course, we can’t get enough of the I Think I Can print. This blue version has a more subtle tone-on-tone feel to it, giving the eye a place to rest. And we love that sweet little train scattered throughout!
The Blue Toys print is another favorite around here. This dreamy, pale baby blue is absolute perfection! We have so many projects in mind for these fabrics: quilts, nursery decor, pajamas, wall hangings, diaper bags, and so much more! What will you make?
The Little Engine That Could is scheduled to arrive in quilt shops early August.
