Hello! It’s Karen from Creamcraft Goods! I’m sharing my latest project for Storytime 30s – a whimsical collection from the RBD Designers. Featuring prints inspired by stories of Jack and Jill, Little Bo Peep, adorable animals, and pretty florals, this collection is perfect for sweet quilts and gifts for baby and children! For my project, I made a Whimsical Satchel Bag for my daughter Rosalie. Let’s check it out!
I thought of sweet shapes to integrate into the design such as the scalloped edges for the bag flap. The bag is softly quilted with sweet prints from the collection.
The bag is not only cute for my little girl, but also functional. Rosalie wants to bring it along on her future travels! I added a removable, adjustable strap, a zippered closure, and a flap with a hidden magnetic closure.
There is a cute little zippered pocket under the flap to hide her smallest treasures.
I also added a handle on the top of the bag to carry if she doesn’t want to use the strap.
