Super Hero Library Bag

Our Riley Blake Designs Super Hero fabrics are back by popular demand, and we are SUPER excited about it!

This print is so versatile and fun to play with. It makes for an exciting quilt back and can be incorporated into quilt blocks, backpacks, softies, pajamas and more. This print is an absolute must have for your fabric stash.

I had fun using the white Super Hero print to make heart shaped comfort pillows for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These little pillows will be donated to a local surgeon who gives them to her patients to help alleviate post-surgery discomfort. Get the info and free pattern for these pillows HERE.

Today, I’m excited to share this cute little Library Bag made with the Gray Super Hero print. The lightening bolts and word bubbles are so much fun! This print is seriously action packed – perfect for little heroes everywhere! Super Hero comes in three background colors: gray, white and blue. I found the FREE tutorial for this bag over at Sugar Bee Crafts.

I love the extra front pocket on this bag – perfect for extra books or to keep pens, pencils, and crayons in their own compartment.

I used Riley Blake Kisses fabric for the handles. I love how they contrast nicely against the busy Super Hero print.

For the lining, I used Riley Blake Red 1″ Stripe. The energizing bold stripe adds an additional contrast to the Super Hero print.

Mint green piping was added to the pocket. Next time, I will probably add a piping along the bag opening as well. I love the clean, finished look the piping detail gives to the bag.

Hop on over to Sugar Bee Crafts for the complete tutorial.
