Tulip Chain Quilt

Hi there,

For those that don’t know me I’m Sharon of Daisy Cottage Quilting and it’s my turn to blog about the project I’m working on for Penny Rose Fabrics.  I am thrilled and honored to have been chosen as a Project Design person for 2016.  I’m still in shock.

So some of my favorite fabric comes from Lori Holt of A Bee in my Bonnet. So I chose her Calico Days fabric for my project.  I made the free pattern called Tulip Chain. You can download it by clicking HERE. It’s fast, fun and turns out so cute.  There are so many variations I’d like to make using this pattern.

I love using Riley Blake Designs Swiss Dots as backgrounds in so many of my projects.  I usually prefer doing that to using white.  Although I’ve now ordered and stocked the Clean White that they carry too.  It’s a nice white.  Clean I guess you could say.  Haaaa

So here are my fabric choices.  Don’t you love the little birds and cherries from the Calico Days line?

This pattern is so simple trust me.  You’re going to want to download it and make one. There aren’t a lot of pieces to cut so it goes really fast. It’s a great size for a baby quilt too if you needed a quick one.

Here’s what one of the blocks look like made. There are really just four big blocks plus background pieces to the quilt.

I couldn’t wait to get it on my Gamill and quilt it. Notice how good Shabby Strawberry looks on the back? The colors go perfect with Calico Days.  Like they were made to put in one quilt.  And I know you love that striped Strawberry print. Who wouldn’t? I think I need curtains out of that for my kitchen window.  Perfect for Summer.

And here it is all done.  I love using my quilts on tables.  This one fits perfect on my family room table.

The colors were very vibrant tonight when I took this photo on the porch.  Can’t you see this one made into a big quilt?  I sure can.
