Wild & Beautiful is here, and we are so excited to be playing with these gorgeous fabric panels!
The collection of wildlife prints features a wolf, eagle, bison, and bear that come in 36″ x WOF fabric panels, as well as a pillow panel.
The pillow panel has all four animals on a 36″ x WOF panel. Each of these smaller prints measures approximately 16 1/2″ x 19 1/2″.
I love to make tote bags out of these fun pillow panels. They soooo easy to make, and are wide and deep enough for a nice, roomy market tote.
To make the tote, I cut out the wolf panel, discarding the black border, which we don’t need in this project. I cut out 3 pieces of Riley Blake Linen (one for the bag back + 2 for the bag lining) and 2 pieces of fusible woven interfacing. The Linen and woven interfacing are all cut to the exact same size as the wolf panel.
I used this great TUTORIAL for the bag assembly, with the exception of the straps, which I opted to sew to the outside of the bag. Here is a great TUTORIAL all about creating boxed corners.
Easy! Once you understand the basic tote bag construction, you’ll be able to whip them up quickly and in any size you like.
