Today is the DAY! We are so excited to launch the first block of our new Building Blocks Series with you. Not sure what Building Blocks is all about? Check out this blog post for a refresh!
Today’s block is the Four-Patch Shoo Fly Block. This is a traditional block that is great to practice quilting skills like squaring up your blocks accurately and matching points. We are sewing with our new Dapple Dot basic. This block features the colors Cream, Grape, and Lilac.
Ready to dive in?! Check out our video tutorial where Cindy will walk you through the whole block step-by-step.
Do you prefer a PDF pattern? We’ve got you covered!
So, let’s talk tools!
We will be using a lot of the same go-to notions for this entire quilt. Today, some tools that were very helpful for this particular block was the 4 1/2 Cute-Cuts Trim-It Ruler by Lori Holt, the Rotating Cutting Mat by Sue Daley, and a Design Board by Lori Holt.
So there you have it! Block 1 is done. We can’t wait to work on Block 2 with you! Tune in for the next block on July 27th.
Are you looking for a quilt kit to make our Building Blocks quilt? Here are two shops that are stocking kits. Supply is limited so don’t delay!
