Hello friends! It’s Julia from Bayhill Studio, and today I am sharing a fun quilt I created using fabric from the Mad Masquerade collection designed by the super talented J. Wecker Frisch for Riley Blake Designs.
This was a fun quilt to make with several lessons learned along the way, which I talk about on my blog. I fell in love with the Mad Masquerade collection as soon as I laid eyes on it. It is a witty Halloween spin on the children’s classic, Alice in Wonderland, and I think it is absolutely fabulous!
To make this quilt, I used the Mad Masquerade Patch Panel to create quilt blocks that alternate with a traditional 9 patch block.
Aren’t these characters a hoot?! I loved the Tweedledee and Tweedledum characters so much, I incorporated the Border Stripe Panel, which features them into both the quilt border and the quilt back.
I created simple 9 patch blocks to alternate with the panel blocks. These are easy to make and I have included a short tutorial for these on my BLOG.
Here is a look at the quilt back, where I used my favorite Riley Blake 1/8″ black gingham with more of the Border Stripe thrown in just for fun.
You can find more photos and all of the details about this quilt on BLOG. Be sure to follow me on Instagram @bayhillstudio and subscribe to my YouTube Channel for more fun project ideas and inspiration!
And great news! Mad Masquerade, designed by J. Wecker Frisch, is available now, so run, don’t walk, to your local quilt shop to get your hands on one of these fun bundles! Happy Quilting!
