We LOVE panel quilts, and we have a seriously fabulous quilt to share with you today! This lap quilt features the gorgeous Longhorn panel from the Barnyard Friends collection.
The collection features four large 36″ x WOF panels: the Longhorn, Calf, Buddies, and Dream.
There is also a 36″ x WOF Pillow Panel which includes all four panels – perfect for pillows, bags, and other small projects.
Lacie whipped up this quick and easy Longhorn lap quilt by adding flying geese to the top and bottom, bordered by Olive Confetti Cotton. The flying geese give the quilt a fun, western flare, and add height to the panel.
Here’s a closer look at the Longhorn. We are in love with all of the amazing detail in this panel.
For the flying geese, Lacie used our Shabby, Mini Hashtag, and Kisses Basics in Nutmeg, with Stitched Circle Cream Tone on Tone Basic. The flying geese measure (unfinished) 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.
The quilt back and binding are Fish and Fowl Green Reeds. We love this print for the realistic texture it adds to this very outdoorsy quilt!
Finally, the all over quilting design is a great choice when you want the focus to be on the gorgeous panel.
