Hi Makers! It’s Lisa Jo of Neverlandstitches back to share with you an interesting twist on my Magical Mystery Medallion Quilt. This time around I have made the quilt Using Black Tie by Dani Mogstad.
Black Tie is an elegant and chic collection of florals, plaid, swirls, dots, pinstripes, and branches using a color palette of black, off white and hints of gray.
Entertaining little story about this quilt…as it was up on my design board in my sewing room, a friend had come over, looked in my sewing room as stated that this was the coolest Halloween quilt they have seen. From that point forward it became know as the Wednesday version.
Using the various off white prints in the collection as the various backgrounds in the quilt gave the quilt a new sense of depth.
The Swirls in the quilting panto matched the swirls in two of the prints making it all come together. I used Dainty Daisy in Licorice as the quilt backing and the black pinstripes from the Black Tie Collection as the binding.
I think that this quilt will be the on I bring with me for our next family backyard movie night, when we watch a family friendly Halloween movie. Question is, will I be able to bring it home?
If you’d like to make your own Wednesday version of The Magical mystery medallion quilt, pick up the Black Tie collection from your favorite quilt shops and the pattern from my Etsy Shop.
