I am so happy to share my next pattern. This is Hope’s Path Quilt. I was lucky to get my hands on Christopher Thompson’s new line, Blue Jean. Christopher Thompson, also known as the Tattooed Quilter, is a favorite of mine. I generally want all of his fabrics and still hoard his very first collection. Blue Jean is a two-tone line that creates a high contrast with Blacks and Blues. The two colors are perfect. I love the texture of his prints. Within the line, you will find flowers, stripes, something I like to call the Buttonhole print, and my absolute favorite sparrows. They remind me of a Sailor Jerry bird, and I love that! I had so much fun playing around with all the things I could make with this line, like a Mountain Breeze quilt mocked up here or a Falling stars quilt. In the end, I decided on Hope’s Path quilt, and I love how it turned out.
Working with Quilts For a Cause
Now I have to tell you that I am even more excited about how the pattern will be sold. I am sharing the rights of the pattern with Quilts for a Cause, a non-profit organization that raises money for cancer screening, cancer patients, and cancer research. Isn’t that great!! It is the perfect way to do something charitable with our craft and make a difference. You can go to their website to buy the pattern and find out more about what they do. The two main things I want to touch on are the ways you can help. Donate a quilt. We all end up having too many quilts, and if you find yourself in that situation and still want to make one more quilt, you can donate it to Quilts for a Cause, and since they are a legit non-profit, it is a tax write-off. How do they make money? They sell the quilts online, at events, raffle tickets for a quilt, and sell patterns. To date, they have raised more than a million dollars for the community with quilts. To help, you can buy a quilt, but if you have too many of those, you can buy a pattern. Head over to my blog to learn more.
