Formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, the National FFA Organization is a dynamic youth organization that was founded by a group of young farmers in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. Today, that mission still holds true as more than 649,000 student members aged 12-21 in more than 7,859 chapters nationwide join FFA to develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
For nearly 90 years, FFA has grown to encompass all aspects of agriculture-from production farming, agribusiness and forestry to biotechnology, marketing and food processing-and encourages its members to explore the more than 235 unique career opportunities within agriculture.
