Home Town – Bonjour Quilted Market Tote

Hello, friends! It’s Julia from Bayhill Studio. Today I’m sharing a fun version of the Bonjour Quilted Market Tote featuring fabric from the Home Town collection designed by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet.

I decided to make the tote with the Home Town Wedding print – this is a continuous print recreating the look of a classic double wedding ring quilt design.

The large size of this market tote is perfect for showing off one ring, plus portions of connecting rings. Because the tote is quilted, it looks as if I repurposed a vintage quilt to create this bag. So fun!

A bright red binding runs around the edge of the bag, concealing raw edges and adding a fun pop of color.

I opted for the Denim Home Town Freeman print for the lining. I love the tiny leaves against the denim blue background. Sticking with the denim theme, I decided to unpick a pocket off an old pair of jeans and sew it to the interior of the bag. And to finish it off, I added a fun little faux leather label!

I used the contrasting Brown Sugar Home Town Daisy print for the sides which adds to the vintage, scrappy aesthetic.

Here is a closer look at some of the adorable designs that make up the patchwork rings. Notice the different low volume backgrounds that give this print a truly authentic pieced quilt vibe.

I seriously love this tote because the quilting and french seams give it some structure, and add a unique charm. Home Town Fabric is available now, and so is the Bonjour Quilted Market Tote pattern. Bring them together the two for the perfect combination!
