I have a pretty simple rule when it comes to buying fabric. If it has rainbows on it- it’s a yes! So when I saw the darling rainbow print in the Day in the Life line by Echo Park, I knew I had to sew with it! Plus, there’s navy, florals and an incredible grid blender print- there’s so much to love in this darling line.
With so many good prints, it’s hard to decide which is my favorite! I knew I wanted to get as many of them in my project as possible, so I decided to use my Frame it Up table topper pattern. The pattern comes with an optional rainbow applique so I thought I would make a wall hanging for my new sewing room.
I am just delighted with how it turned out! The colors are so happy and fun. It makes me smile every time I see it.
This mini quilt finishes at 24″ square, which also makes it perfect for large Euro Sham pillows. I think a couple of rainbow pillows would be so fun in a bedroom or play room! And mini quilts are always a fun place to try new quilting techniques. I had fun with free motion quilting, as well as quilting with my walking foot. It’s always exciting to see how the texture of quilting changes the look of your project!
I hope you’ll join me on my blog Ameroonie Designs or on Instagram or Facebook @AmeroonieDesigns. We have lots of fun over there! Until next time, Happy Sewing friends! Amy
