In The Afterglow – Strawberry Embroidery Set

The only thing better than useful items, is when those items are also beautiful. Hi! I’m Amy from Ameroonie Designs and I’m so excited to share some great projects made with In the Afterglow fabric. As soon as I saw this gorgeous line by Minki Kim, I knew I had to get sewing!

There are some gorgeous blenders and supporting prints, but I was stopped in my tracks by the stunning main print. Strawberries, flowers and incredible colors make it a show stopper!

I started off making the Extra Large version of my Nesting Travel Pouch pattern. It’s the perfect size for an Embroidery kit. Using some faux gold leather for the bottom of the pouch gives it stability and helps it stand up, which is super useful if you’re like me and want to take projects on the go. The pouch holds up to an 8″ embroidery hoop with room for floss, needles and everything else you will need.

To make it a true embroidery set, I, of course, had to make one of my needle books to coordinate. This is a free pattern for my email newsletter subscribers and if you sign up below, not only will you get the PDF for the Needle Book, but my Embroidered Strawberry mini pillow pattern too. It’s a fun, quick sew with pockets in the front and back and pages for needles, threads and whatever else you might want. I used the pattern pieces from the mini pillow to add a little strawberry applique onto the front of mine and I just love it! The simple pouch is also a free pattern. You can find all of the information on my blog here.

I love that I can just grab my pouch on my way out the door to soccer practice, doctor appointments or whatever and I have everything I need handy to fill the time. And when it’s made of such beautiful fabrics, it becomes a fun accessory as well!

I hope you will follow me for more fun project ideas and inspiration. You can find me at www.AmeroonieDesigns.com or on Instagram @AmeroonieDesigns. Happy Sewing!
