Emma! – Easy Big Patchwork Baby Quilt + Tutorial!

We sure do love The Wiggles fabric! The bright, vibrant colors, and adorable prints are too cute for words!

I decided to whip up a super simple toddler size quilt, measuring approximately 37″ x 45″.

The Emma! collection features adorable text prints, along with Icons and dancing Emma prints in pink, yellow, blue and white.

We couldn’t narrow down our favorites, so we used them all!

To make this quilt, you will need:

  • 20 – 10″ squares in various Emma! prints.
  • 5 – 2 1/2″ strips Tickle Me Pink Confetti Cotton for binding
  • batting
  • fabric for quilt back

To begin, lay our your 10″ squares in five rows 4 squares across. Alternate the colors and prints so you don’t end up with the exact same color or print right next to each other.

Sew your first row of squares. Press all of the seams in one direction.

Sew the next row of squares. Press all of the seams in the opposite direction.

Continue until all of the rows are sewn. By pressing seams in opposite directions, they will nest together nicely for a neater finish.

After all of your rows are completed, sew them together, matching up seams. Press.

Now all that is left is to make your quilt sandwich (quilt back + batting + quilt top). Baste. Quilt as desired.

I quilted this on my home machine using an all over meandering design with little stars added throughout. Straight lines would look nice, diagonal lines, loops….whatever you like!

For the quilt back, I used our Blossom Wide Back fabric in Aqua.

Emma! is available now at your favorite local and online quilt shops. Pick up yours today and share your makes with us on Instagram using #thewigglesfabric, #rileyblakedesigns, #iloverileyblake, and tag us @rileyblakedesigns.
