Everyone loves a splash of sparkle to add elegance and festivity to the holidays. Riley Blake Designs has really hit a home run with it’s latest Rose Gold metallic fabric found in the “Yes, Please!” Collection and in Riley Blake basics. The Rose Gold fabrics feature beautiful rose gold sparkle designs printed on black or white backgrounds.
I loved them all as soon as I saw them and decided to incorporate the entire collection into a festive table runner.
Accented with a simple white garland and seashells, some rose gold candlesticks and minimal greenery, this very neutral centerpiece really gives the rose gold table runner the chance to pop!
I used Diary of a Quilter, Amy Smart’s free quilt-as-you-go table runner tutorial found HERE.
For the backing, I used two large scrap pieces — the Rose Gold Stripe and the Swiss Dot. Notice that I also used more than one print for the binding. Again, I was working with scrap pieces, which turned out great — I love scrappy bindings!
Here is a close-up look at these gorgeous prints. My favorite might be the plaid, or maybe the dots, or the cute little arrows…
This table runner is a snap to make. Amy Smart’s quilt-as-you-go tutorial allows you to personalize your project, making your table runner as long or as short as you like, and cutting the fabric strips any width you want. You could give it a real fun chunky look, or use teeny tiny strips. It’s all up to you and your imagination!
