Hey y’all, it’s Hilary of @byhilaryjordan back again with another project for my friends here at Riley Blake. This time around I’ve made the most adorable little pants for my nephew using the new Forest Friends collection.
My sister cloth diapers my nephew, so he always has a bit more junk in the trunk, which is why the Big Butt Baby Pants pattern by Made by Rae is the perfect pattern choice when sewing for him. I’ve made this pattern multiple times over the years, for my oldest (who is now 11) for my youngest (now 6), and now for my little nephew who is 1.
It is a great pattern with several ways to customize. The panel on the bum is what allows enough room for the chunkiness of a cloth diaper. I used the Argyle Green print from Forest Friends for the back panel and the cuffs, the main fabric on the pants is the Forest Friends Main Green. The little fox family is my favorite part of the main print. 🦊
I won’t be able to gift these to my nephew until Thanksgiving, so I had my son’s bear model them for me. My son was very curious about why I made his bear pants. 😂
