Glamp Camp – Sundress and Mini Backpack

Hi everyone! It’s Kari from That’s Sew Kari. I used to love camping when I was little. Then I grew up and suddenly I’d rather be lounging by the pool instead of traipsing through the forest. I think if I were to camp now, I’d need something a little glamorous… not sure if I can walk after sleeping on the ground in a tent. I could totally be on board with glamping in a cute little retro camper.

Glamp Camp by My Mind’s Eye is a fun, whimsical collection full of prints to get you in the glamping spirit. The color palette is mint, raspberry, pink, teal, pebble and cream and pair together beautifully. There are glamper prints, plaids, trees, wood grain and more to inspire you.

I decided I would choose one of the coordinating prints and make a sundress for my youngest — who is now 11 and has recently declared light pink her favorite color. I loved the gold embossed tree silhouettes and thought it added just the touch of sparkle it needed. This is Glamp Camp Simple Trees Pink.

When I got my fabric in, I had to decide on a pattern. In the end, I decided on a simple Augusta Dress by Little Lizard King so I could use the remaining fabric for a matching accessory. This pattern has a simple scoop neckline or a sweetheart neckline. I also chose the elastic back option because it always gives a little extra growing room.

I used the remaining yardage on my newest pattern, Passport to Paradise Mini Backpack. This pattern was designed as part of the Project Jet Set collection for Project Run and Play. It features a top zipper closure, front and interior pocket, adjustable straps and a removable zipper wallet that fits a passport. This is perfectly sized with kids in mind!

It was the little gold trees that convinced me to sew up a matching mini backpack. I had gold coiled zipper tape that perfectly matched. She’s so in love and immediately paired the set with her favorite RTW item — her jean jacket. I love how the light pink contrasts with the denim. See more pictures and details on my blog!

Glamp Camp will be available this month! Please check with your favorite fabric shop to find yardage.
