Golden Poppies – Liberty Dresses and Kensington Romper

Hi everyone! It’s Emma from @emmas_crafternoons, I’m honored to be guest posting for the new Golden Poppies collection. These two sweet dresses and romper have me SO excited for spring! Golden Poppies is the latest collection from new designer, Shealeen Louise. Golden Poppies celebrates this beautiful wildflower that grows in meadows, prairies and home gardens. The lovely tonal florals in blue, white and orange are as bright and happy as the flower itself and were perfect for the two dresses and romper I made my daughters using Little Lizard King’s Liberty and Kensington patterns.

This was my first time sewing up Little Lizard King’s new Liberty pattern and because I used the simple skirt option, I was able to make both dresses with just one yard of fabric per dress!

I love the ruffled collar included with this pattern, it reminds me of the delicate petals on a poppy.

The beautiful poppies on this fabric already have me dreaming of warm, summer afternoons in our back yard among our very own poppy plants.

“Poppies, golden poppies, gleaming in the sun, Closing up at evening, when the day is done.”

– Lyrics from the California Poppy Song by Leila France
