We know it feels funny to post Christmas quilts in the heat of June but we’ll tell you this, it is certainly nice to get a good jump on all that Holiday sewing!
Today we are sharing a great beginner friendly quilt that features not one, but TWO of our new Holiday Collections!
Old Fashioned Christmas by My Mind’s Eye
This fabric is classic Christmas all the way. From the color palette to the artwork, this collection is perfect for any holiday project!
Hello Winter Flannel by Tara Reed
These flannels are so. Crazy. Cozy. Truly, if you have never sewn with RBD flannel we can promise they are as soft as they come! These designs by Tara Reed are perfect to celebrate the winter months and stay cozy and warm.
The Quilt
The quilt we made is a mash-up of these two collections! We used the precut friendly Squared Up Quilt Pattern by designer Cotton + Joy. This pattern is great for a beginner and is a nice way to really show off the prints in a collection.
Since this quilt will be used in the chilly months we created a fun, scrappy backing with Hello Winter to make this quilt as cozy as can be!
We added in a strip of Old Fashioned Christmas to create some visual interest and tie everything together. With the remaining fabric from our 10″ Stacker we made a crappy binding.
