G’Day! It’s Lauren here from Molly and Mama and today I’m sharing my latest project, sewn with the beautiful Homemade collection by Echo Park Paper Company for Riley Blake Designs. With colour names like Coral, Forest, Sage and Sunshine, and print names like Flower, Blossom, Bumblebees and Sparkle, this collection conjures up feelings of summer sunshine, warmth and time spent out amongst the blooms.
As usual, I chose just a few of the prints to feature in my small project sewing and I am thrilled with the way they work together. Here’s the selection I chose. They just make you want to smile, right?
The sunflower motifs on the main print helped me to decide which project to make. They match perfectly with the embroidery design featured in my Posy Pocket Pincushion and Needlebook patterns. I selected a colour palette for my embroidery floss that would compliment the fabric, and it all worked together beautifully.
I love both of these matching projects because you can use such small amounts of fabric but still show them off! The pin cushion above has strip patchwork behind the embroidered pocket which holds your scissors in place.
The needle book (above and below) also showcases a range of different prints, from the pockets inside, to the strip patchwork on the back cover too.
Both of these projects are available as part of the 2023 Pretty Stitches Club. The Pin Cushion was released as August’s pattern and the needle book will be available for download on September 15th. I love this club because every month has a new pattern to explore and if you join now, you’ll receive all the projects we’ve already explored so far this year. It’s a great way for beginners to build their pattern library.
If you’re just after the patterns on their own, you’ll need to wait until they’re released in my store. I’d hate you to miss out, so be sure to sign up for the Molly and Mama newsletter so you don’t miss the announcement when they’re available. And, there’s always a sneaky discount for subscribers too! I’d love for you to join me on the list.
If you’re loving the look of this collection, it has just released in stores. So be sure to ask for it at your favourite fabric retailer. Here’s a view of the entire collection in the three colorways. Aren’t they beautiful?
Thanks for reading along today. I hope you enjoy sewing with the Homemade Collection. Happy stitching, Lauren.
