Hello! It’s Laura from Slice of Pi Quilts hopping over here onto the Riley Blake Designs blog to share a really fun mermaid pillow today!
Two years ago, I shared a mermaid QUILT here on the Riley Blake blog! (You can jump over and see that post HERE!) The quilt and pillow are both made from the same Hydra quilt pattern!
This fun pillow is made with the Mer-Mazing fabric collection. It’s a sweet mix of pinks, purples, and blues with seashells, dolphins, and mermaids. I paired it with the Lilac solid color and love the result!
I made the mini size quilt from the pattern, but added an envelope style back so that it could be a pillow!
The pillow (and the quilt!) are made using a quilt-as-you-go technique, so it is quilted at the same time that you assemble the rows!
The texture of this is absolutely wonderful. It’s like those sequin shirts! Such a fun way to use 2 1/2″ squares!
