Hi everyone! It’s Kari from That’s Sew Kari. Today, I’m stopping by to show the gorgeous Orchard Collection. Orchard, by Jill Finley, features beautiful florals, cute fruits and jam jars along with several coordinating prints. The collection comes in pink, yellow and white colorways.
For this project, I chose Orchard Main Lemon, Orchard Basket Cherry and Orchard Stripes Lemon.
As we selected fabric, I knew it would be her Easter Dress. I surprised her with an Edessa Dress by Little Lizard King and chose the high low ruffle option. I also chose the bodice ruffles. She really loved the added drama of the details.
The peekaboo back is normally perfect for our southern spring weather. Unfortunately, this year, Easter brought us a 30-degree temperature drop. She added a jean jacket and wore it anyway!
It took me a while to figure out what to make with the Basket print. I knew I wanted an accessory, but a mini backpack didn’t fit the aesthetic of the dress. In the end I ended up making a little bow clutch with zippered top. I lined it with the lemon stripes (and then forgot to have her open the clutch in pics.) It’s the perfect size for her phone and a lip gloss.
