We are excited to showcase the stunning new Red Elegance collection today with this lovely Hearts on Point Quilt!
The quilt is a basic on point design, but with the red fabrics arranged in trios to make the subtle heart shapes.
The Red Elegance collection, by Nancy Zieman Productions, is the perfect fabric line for this quilt design. The sophisticated florals in shades of red, white and gray lend themselves to everything from Christmas, to Valentine and wedding themes, or for a splash of elegance year round.
I didn’t have a pattern or solid plan to work from when making this quilt, but you can use Amy’s On Point Tutorial at DIARY OF A QUILTER, changing the number of rows to 5 full squares across and 5 full squares down. I used 2 1/2″ border strips in the sweet Red Elegance Stems Gray print, and 8″ border strips in the gorgeous Main Brick floral. For the cream and gray squares, we added some Riley Blake Tone-on-Tones for added contrast.
Every single floral in this collection is breathtaking! We love how beautifully they all mix together!
We machine quilted the center with simple straight-ish rows about 1/2″ apart. The borders were quilted with an all over meandering design.
We used Lori Holt’s Gray Pattern Wide Back fabric for the quilt back.
We can’t get enough of this! The quilt is festive enough to leave out at Christmas, but the heart design means we can keep it out through Valentine’s Day!
