The Sew Simple Shapes Remix is back!
Remember, there’s no pattern, no sew-along, no finished quilt, just fun motivation to get your creative juices flowing. You’ll be inspired to gather your Sew Simple Shapes and make all the cute things!
For January’s remix, Lori created her block using the following:
- Sew Simple Shapes: Prim (K32)
- Fabric: Bee Backgrounds and Scrappy Prints.
From Bee Backgrounds, cut the following:
- A: (4) 1 ½” x 3 ½”
- B: (4) 1 ½” x 2 ½”
- C: (4) 1 ½” x 1 ½”
From Scrappy Prints, cut the following:
- D: (4) 1 ½” x 4 ½”
- E: (4) 1 ½” x 3 ½”
- F: (4) 1 ½” x 2 ½”
- G: (4) 1 ½” x 1 ½”

Ready to see our remix project?!
We created our project using the following:
- Sew Simple Shapes: Prim (K32)
- Fabric: Riley White Confetti Cotton Solids, Red Hot (by Various Designers), and Red Shabby (by Lori Holt)
In order to create our adorable Valentine’s Day pillow, we upsized Lori’s block! The 8” block size is perfect for a Rolie Polie pre-cut. You can find the cutting instructions below.
From Riley White Confetti Cotton Solids, cut the following:
- E: 2 ½” x 2 ½”
- F: 2 ½” x 4 ½”
- G: 2 ½” x 6 ½”
From Red Hot, cut the following:
- A: 2 ½” x 2 ½”
- B: 2 ½” x 4 ½”
- C: 2 ½” x 6 ½”
- D: 2 ½” x 8 ½”
We pieced together four blocks, added wavy quilting, the Prim heart, and finished the pillow with an envelope backing. Make this easy-peasy Valentine’s Day pillow for your own home or give as a gift to your loved ones.
