Sewing for Beginners – How to Make a Padded Glasses Case

Sunglass case sewing tutorial with fabrics by Riley Blake Designs

Berry season, warm weather and time for SUNGLASSES 😎 is coming! If you have never made your own sunglass (or glasses) cases you won’t believe how quick and easy they are. These are made with the berry fabric that coordinates with the June Placemat Panel in the Monthly Placemat Panel series I designed for Riley Blake.

Since I started wearing prescription glasses I now juggle 3 pairs of glasses! My “all the time” glasses, reading / computer glasses and prescription sunglasses. But even if you don’t wear glasses all the time I don’t know anyone who doesn’t sunglasses so these are great gifts or even things to sew and sell.

Because I have expensive glasses I want the best padding I can get without using a hard case which is bulkier and heavier to carry around. To get the protection without the weight I use Flex-Foam padding instead of fleece. You can substitute fleece if you are using inexpensive glasses that can be easily replaced.
