Sneak Peek! – Ava Kate

We’re excited to share another sneak peek with you today! Ava Kate, by Carina Gardner, is scheduled to arrive in March and we can’t wait!

When asked about the inspiration behind Ava Kate, Carina said: ” I wanted to create a collection that included sharp colors and a modern feel with illustrations that transcended age. I loved the idea of a collection that I would use in one of my teenager’s bedrooms, but would also work as an adult quilt or sophisticated baby quilt…

Ava Kate’s color scheme was inspired by one of my previous collections, Apricot and Persimmon. The pinks and sharp corals are striking against the black and softer gray-blues. However, in Ava Kate, I created more intricate illustrations and more variations of coral and pink so develop the florals. I was inspired to mimic the sweetness of the colors in the illustrations. I love the cascading and tossed leaves and spirals that show up in the backgrounds of may of the fabrics to help bring a softness to the collection.”

Take a closer look at the Main floral print. We love the color variations that give these florals a bold and sophisticated feel. The Main floral print will be available in Black (shown here), Seafoam, and Cream.

In contrast, the Vines print features delicate, tiny floral sprays along with subtle creamy vines. Beautiful! Vines comes in Seafoam (shown here), Black, and Blush.

We love a good stripe, and this monochromatic stripe is right at the top of favorites! We love the classic, yet modern feel of the simple tonal stripe in the Ava Kate collection. Stripes will be available in Blush (shown here), Cayenne, and Black.

We can’t wait to start creating with Ava Kate! We’re dreaming up quilts, table runners, pillows, bags, dresses and more! What will you make with Ava Kate?
