Sneak Peek! – Back of the Chutes

Today we’re sharing a sneak peek of the officially licensed Back of the Chutes collection, featuring work of acclaimed artist, Hugh Cabot.

Hugh Cabot (1930-2005) gained artistic fame at the age of 22 years after having been appointed by then President of the United States and Secretary of the Navy to serve as a combat artist for the Korean War.

Cabot, awarded with the title of American Master Painter in 2006, is best known for his bold, powerful western landscapes and highly distinctive portraits of the iconic cowboy. His love for the western frontier began at age 12 when he was sent from his hometown in Boston to visit western ranches. By age 14, he was obsessed with the Rodeo, horses, and winning a champion silver buckle. He spent over 20 years studying the way of life of the American Cowboy and perfected southwestern and frontier subjects as a painter, illustrator, and sculptor.

Back of the Chutes features scenes from the rodeo, along with paisley bandana prints, and stripes in western inspired shades of denim, rust, brown, and parchment.

The collection boasts of two stunning fabric panels. The first is called Out of Money. The large brush strokes are full of gorgeous earthy color and movement, showing the artistry of Hugh Cabot in perfect detail.

The second, equally fabulous panel, is called Back of the Chutes. This panel features a cooler color palette. Gorgeous!

The Sienna Main print is full of sketches of cowboys in motion. We are loving this beautiful, rich brown background! The main print also comes in Denim and Parchment.

You’ll love the Broncos print, this one in Denim, which features tiny bucking broncos in an all over tossed pattern. Broncos comes in Denim, Sienna, and Rust.

The Stripe is seriously awesome. It features a very western, geometric design, this one in multi colors with a parchment background. The stripe is available in Parchment, Rust, and Denim.

There are so many fun possibilities with these fabrics, we can’t wait to start playing with them! We’re dreaming up quilts, bags, pajamas, wall hangings, and more! What will you make?
