It’s the collection we’re all waiting for! Jane Austen at Home is coming soon, and we’re beyond excited to get a sneak peek! This fabric line is full of reproduction prints based off of the stunning coverlet quilt, which is a reproduction of the one made by Jane, her sister Cassandra, and their mother.
The fabric of Jame Austen’s home life is available for the first time ever! Riley Blake Designs has reproduced these beautiful floral prints to make this extraordinary part of British history available to everyone.
To make this collection even more unique, we have also designed fabrics using hand-written music by Jane Austen, as well as passages from her personal letters. The beautiful, historic color palette is full of creamy taupes, deep reds, sage green, pale blue, and creams.
Each unique print is named after a character in Jane’s novels. Here is a closer look at Charlotte, with it’s intricate red and gray artwork on a cream backdrop.
The Jane Austen at Home collection comes with a 36″ x WOF fabric panel, which is a smaller replica of the larger coverlet quilt.
You can use it as-is for a quick and easy cheater quilt, or if you are making the larger coverlet quilt, you will need to cut out the large center diamond and many of the small diamonds to incorporate into the quilt.
You can make your very own replica of Jane’s coverlet quilt with the Jane Austen Coverlet Kit. The Jane Austen Coverlet Kit includes the pattern, fabric, and acrylic template for quilt top and binding. The backing is not included.
The coverlet quilt is a medallion quilt with a large central motif cut like a diamond. This is surrounded by 232 smaller diamonds and interconnected by spotted sashing. The outer border contains over 2500 smaller diamonds. These have been pre-printed, so you can avoid paper-piecing 2500 diamonds! Whew!
The kit comes in a keepsake Jane Austen box. Finished coverlet size is approximately 80″ x 100″. The quilt kit is expected to arrive in September.
We have another fabulous kit for you. The Jane Austen Pillow Cover kit includes the pattern and fabric to make the pillow front and back. The pillow measures 20″ x 20″ and comes in a keepsake box. This kit is expected to arrive in September.
The Jane Austen E-Reader Case Kit includes the pattern, fabric, batting, and zipper to make a quilted cover for your favorite electronic reading device. Fabric featured is Jane Austen at Home. The kit also comes in a keepsake box. Finished size is 8″ x 10 1/2″.
