It’s time for another sneak peek, and today we’re thrilled to share a preview of Old Made, the newest fun and quirky vintage-inspired Halloween collection by J. Wecker Frisch.
When asked about the inspiration behind her Old Made fabric line, Janet said, “The idea of an Old (Maid) Made inspired deck of cards whose characters were sewers, quilters, and makers came to me years ago. As I began researching vintage sets, a rare antique deck turned up for sale. These and a few random misplaced cards are the ones I chose to digitally manipulate into the collection you see in this art group. I am delighted with the results!”
We are delighted with it, too! We love the simple warm and bright autumnal color palette of black, gray, orange and white. And we love the versatility of this fabric line. The colors and designs hint of Halloween, without being obvious. All of the little Halloween “hints” in this collection will bring smiles as you make new discoveries with each new look.
Take a closer look at the Card Toss print. We are in awe of the breathtaking detail and artistry in each little playing card. Spend time exploring each unique character, and you’ll be smitten, too! Card Toss will be available in Off White (shown here), Orange, and Black.
The Pumpkin Pins fabric is pure genius! Janet artfully illustrated these tomato pincushions from an overhead vantage point, so that they look like adorable Halloween pumpkins! Pumpkin Pins will be available in Gray (shown here), Off White, and Orange.
Another genius design is the Zipper stripe. Janet has a knack for giving us a fresh perspective on ordinary objects. Colored in Halloween orange and black, this Zipper stripe is just a wee bit spooky, don’t you think? Zipper will be available in Orange (shown here), Black, and White.
There are three fabulous fabric panels included in this fabric collection. Shown above is the 24″ x WOF Old Made Cards Panel. This is the perfect panel for fussy cutting, as each of these cards can be cut up and incorporated into quilts, bags, pillows and more.
The Game Boxes Panel also measure 24″ x WOF. These larger designs can also be cut and pieced or appliquéd into your quilting and sewing projects.
