Good Morning, Everyone! It’s Jessica Dayon here and today I’d like to share the Calico Comfort Quilt that I made using Sugar and Spice by Lindsay Wilkes. In case you don’t know me, you can find my blog at Jessica Dayon and you can follow me on Instagram @jessicadayon.
I love all of the vintage-y fabric collections that Lindsay Wilkes designs! I get so excited to make quilt with each one! Look at these gorgeous prints!
I paired Sugar & Spice with some RBD basics. For this quilt, I used the following RBD basics: Red Swiss Dot, Hot Pink Swiss Dots, Bee Basics Stitched Flower in Cayenne, Aqua Kisses Reversed, Shabby in Cherry, Blossom in Peony, and Blossom in All the Pink.
The pattern I used to make this quilt is called Calico Comfort Nine Patch and it is found in the Big Book of Civil War Quilts. This book is fantastic and the quilt patterns in it are wonderful in reproduction prints or in more modern prints like I used for this quilt!
I added a heart in the middle of one of the nine patches for a special little touch.
For the backing, I used Bee Basics Pink Blossom. For the binding, I used Bee Basics Raspberry Gingham.
