Thanksgiving Tablescape with Adel in Autumn

We love gathering together with family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner. As the weather gets cooler, we find ourselves getting excited to eat our favorite recipes and reflect on the many things we are grateful for. As much as we love spending hours in the kitchen making grandma’s famous stuffing, our favorite part of the Thanksgiving prep is always the decor!

A tablescape can be a thing of art, especially when you can involve a needle and thread. This year, we decided to use the Adel in Autumn collection by Sandy Gervais to dress up our Thanksgiving table! For our centerpiece, we made the cutest fabric pumpkins and, of course, we couldn’t resist making some napkins to match.

Adel in Autumn was the perfect collection for this project. The Autumn Plaid print was begging to be turned into cloth napkins and we knew the other prints would absolutely shine in our little pumpkins! You can shop Adel in Autumn now at your favorite local or online quilt shop.

Do you want to replicate these projects for your own Thanksgiving table? Let us show you how!

For the fabric pumpkins, we used a tutorial by Lovely Threads. Molly walks you through the process step-by-step. This project is very beginner friendly! The hardest part for us was foraging our backyard to find the perfect pumpkin stems.

  • Fabric of choice
  • Doll Needle & Embroidery floss or Chunky Thread
  • Needle & thread (we used Aurifill 50wt.)
  • Scissors
  • Cutting Mat, rotary cutter, & ruler
  • Hot glue or other strong craft glue
  • Sticks for the pumpkin stems
  • Poly-fil

Molly’s tutorial includes cutting measurements for three different pumpkin sizes. The largest pumpkin size requires a 10.5” x 20.5” piece of fabric. For complete instructions, click the tutorial button below. To see our pumpkin come to life, watch our video!

To complete our tablescape, we used Apple Green Cottage’s quick & easy Cloth Napkin tutorial. Her tutorial walks you through making perfect mitered corners and shows you how to make your napkins double-sided. Pretty cute, wouldn’t you agree?!
