Hello friends! It’s Julia from Bayhill Studio, and today I am excited to introduce you to my brand new quilt pattern, Star Attraction!
The Star Attraction pattern comes in two sizes: 60″ x 60″ throw or picnic size, and 48″ x 48″ baby/crib size. The design uses just four fabrics, yet it is versatile enough to look amazing with just about any color palette, including this festive 4th of July palette pulled from the brand new Tie Dye Americana collection.
For this quilt, I used Tie Dye Americana, Cherry, Blue, and White. Take a look at those gorgeous tie dye swirls! I absolutely LOVE how these fabrics worked together in this quilt!
One of the fun design elements of this quilt is the way your eye wants to see different things — stars, stripes, checkerboard, and arrows. These elements will change depending on the color and combination of fabrics you choose.
I love working with solid fabrics, but it is also nice to have fabric options that have more depth and texture to them. You can really see here how bit of color variation in the Tie Dye prints adds to the overall look and feel of this particular quilt.
I used the Americana print for the binding, and I love how it frames the quilt and pulls it all together.
